Michel Cotte (France), an advisor for the ICOMOS, and Eric DeLony(USA), a researcher on bridges worldwide, were invited to attend, and lectures and discussions were held. The potential for Kintaikyo Bridge to become a World Heritage site was confirmed.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tableimg\" src=\"https:\/\/kintaikyo-bridge.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ayumi_2001.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tableimg\" src=\"https:\/\/kintaikyo-bridge.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ayumi_2001_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tableimg\" src=\"https:\/\/kintaikyo-bridge.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ayumi_2001_e.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>September 2008<\/th>\n<td>The result of the evaluation by the Agency for Cultural Affairs was announced. While Iwakuni City\u2019s proposal did not achieve entry on the \u201cTentative List\u201d, it received \u201cCategory Ia\u201d ranking as a \u201cTentative List Candidate Asset\u201d.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>June 2009<\/th>\n<td>The \u201cKintaikyo Bridge World Heritage Expert Committee\u201d was established to consider the various tasks necessary for Kintaikyo Bridge to achieve inclusion on the World Heritage List.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>November 2010<\/th>\n<td>The second Kintaikyo Bridge International Symposium was held. Professor Fang Yong of Peking University, China was invited to attend, and lectures and discussions were held. It was confirmed that no Chinese bridges were used as the original model for Kintaikyo Bridge, and together with the results of the first Kintaikyo Bridge International Symposium, the conclusion was reached that this is a wooden bridge that possesses a value that is unique worldwide.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"tableimg\" src=\"https:\/\/kintaikyo-bridge.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ayumi_2211_h.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>March 2012<\/th>\n<td>The \u201cPlan for the Future of Kintaikyo Bridge: Basic Policy\u201d was formulated.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>November 2012<\/th>\n<td>On the theme of \u201cthe Value of Kintaikyo Bridge\u201d, the Kintaikyo Bridge Symposium in Edo was held at Waseda University Okuma Auditorium. Michel Cotte, a World Heritage consultant who was invited to Iwakuni city from France for the first time in about ten years, exchanged opinions with Specially Appointed Professor Ichiro Kobayashi of Kumamoto University Graduate School and Professor Yasuyoshsi Okada of Kokushikan University on the OUV of Kintaikyo Bridge and issues toward its registration as a World Heritage Site.<br \/>\n<img
